Clinical Social Worker -Kent County Correctional Facility
Family Outreach Center is seeking an independent and motivated candidate to provide crisis intervention to incarcerated individuals at the Kent County Correctional Facility. Ideal candidate must possess a knowledge of community resources to provide discharge planning for inmates who are preparing for release from the jail, must be an effective communicator, comfortable working in a face paced environment, and able to act in a professional manner within a multi-disciplinary team (including security staff, medical, etc.). Candidate must have a Master’s Degree in social work. Successful clearance of a legal background check through the Kent County Sheriff’s Office is required.
Hours: 1st Shift , 2nd Shift , Weekends (Part-Time) Available
Salary: $66,500 -70,000
Responsibilities include:
- Assessing mental health needs of incarcerated individuals as they enter and remain incarcerated
- Developing and implementing clinical interventions appropriate to the identified need of the incarcerated individual.
- Completion of suicide assessments.
- Teaches and promotes positive decision making, stress management, and coping skills to the incarcerated individual.
- Providing referrals for psychiatric medication, community resources, and support services upon release from the jail.
- Capable of working independently, with timely completion of documentation in an electronic record.
- Practices in accordance with the Code of Ethics, of the National Association of Social Workers.
