Outpatient Mental Health Therapist Grand Rapids, MI

Family Outreach Center is seeking a person for a 40-hour benefitted position within the Outpatient Program as a Therapist. The position requires a Master’s degree in Social Work or related field with a minimum of two (2) years relevant clinical experience preferred. The candidate must be comfortable working with a team and with clients that present with a variety of mental health and substance use issues.

Responsibilities would include:

Gather and compile pertinent client information for biopsychosocial assessments.
Diagnose using DSM 5 criteria
Develop appropriate treatment plans
Complete discharge/terminations.
Conduct individual, family and group therapy sessions
Complete documentation in an accurate and timely manner
Maintain weekly to biweekly supervisory meetings with the Outpatient Supervisor regarding case consultations, performance of duties, etc.
Assist clients in acquiring other services needed; (advocacy role), i.e., medical, vocational, financial, as appropriate and necessary
Comply with regulations regarding confidentiality of records, professional ethics, and mental health standards
Remain compliant with professional licenses and certifications

JOB TYPE: Full Time

Education: Master’s degree in Social Work or related field. Must also be a Certified Advanced Alcohol Drug Counselor (CAADC) or have submitted a plan for obtaining a CAADC.
